“If a doula were a drug, it would be unethical not to use it.”

“Birth may be a matter of a moment, but it is a unique one.”

Professional Doula & Childbirth Education Services

Doulas are trained professionals in pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum support. They provide emotional, physical, psychological, and educational support to expecting and new families. They are not a medical professional.  Birth doulas are sometimes referred to as labor coach or birth coach.

Studies show that childbirth education reduces stress and anxiety and improves maternity care outcomes. Parents-to-be build confidence, learn about the physiological process of giving birth, understand their options.  Most birthing classes, like in a Lamaze class, teach basics baby care and breastfeeding techniques.

Yes, you do! I’m a doula, and I support natural childbirth, medicated (epidural) births, and c-section births. I have experience support families that desire a hospital birth, a home birth, a birth center birth. If you have an epidural, I will help you to optimize your chances of having a vaginal birth.

Breastfeeding – Chestfeeding is a personal decision. However, WHO recommends breastmilk exclusively (no formula, juice, or water) for the first six months of life. Breastmilk is the best food for babies. It is safe, free, healthy, and contains antibodies and nutrients.

Doulas and midwives are different. They both assist families during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, but in different ways.  Midwives are a medical professional.  Birth doulas are trained professionals who provide well-being and education support.  A midwife is a health care provider, while a doula is more of a childbirth coach who provides education, information, emotional and physical support during birth.

It is essential to find and build your tribe for breastfeeding help and breastfeeding support.
